Pre-appointment Instruction
- If you have frequent episodes of cold sores, taking acyclovir or valcyclovir starting one day prior to your microchanneling will reduce the likelihood of a recurrence due to your treatment.
- Discontinue retinol or tretinoin at least 3 days prior to treatment.
- If possible, please arrive at the office without makeup on
- If your skin is very dry, a homecare routine may need to be started prior to restore moisture balance
- Drink plenty of water
Post-appointment Instructions
- Preferably no other products are applied until the following day, (although technically it is safe to apply products, SPF and makeup after about 2 hours).
- Use a fresh pillowcase.
- Beginning the following morning; apply any home care products you are given in the order explained to you, morning and night.
- Avoid exercise and activities that make you hot and or sweat for 48 hours
- Avoid exposure to pet dander and other irritants as best you can. You may experience a mild allergic reaction to pets and other things you typically to do not react to within the first 24 hours.
- Avoid prolonged sun exposure.
- Your skin may feel hot and tight, like a mild sunburn. Moisturize often, and you may apply a cool damp wash-cloth as desired. However, do not use the wash-cloth to scrub your face.
- Trans Epidermal Water Loss is a common temporary side effect and could leave you feeling dry through the first week. Keep the recommended moisturizer with you during the day and apply as frequently as necessary to avoid a dry sensation. The more you moisturize the better your results will be.

Are there any contraindications?
Any condition that seriously impairs your immune system, active radiation or chemotherapy, pregnant or nursing, diabetes, any inflammatory skin condition including psoriasis, eczema and dermatitis. Active herpes simplex, allergy to stainless steel, chronic inflammatory skin disease, Accutane in the past 2 years, hemophilia or similar bleeding disorder.
What makes Procell Unique?
The stamping technique results in substantially decreased discomfort and downtime for clients compared to pen type micro-needling devices that required dragging over the skin. Stamping up and down instead creates micro-channels without the tearing effect that is caused by pulling the needles sideways as they enter the skin. The design of the device and needle tips eliminate the risk of backflow and cross-contamination.
Does it hurt?
Everyone is different, but in general no! There can be some discomfort during the procedure. However, it is generally considered mild if at all. Numbing cream is used so most clients won't feel much of anything.
How long is the downtime?
Downtime is minimal! It is important that you follow all pre and post care instructions for best results. Anything from minor redness, to a deep red flush, which clears up in 4 to 72 hours, is considered normal.
- For your first procedure, you can expect mild redness and swelling, and a tight, warm sensation for between 4 & 24 hours.
- Later procedure may produce redness and swelling along with tiny flecks of redness for between 4 & 72 hours. (These are easily covered with a quality mineral makeup).
- Mild skin sloughing may occur for a few days after treatment.
- Mild acne and milia can occur in rare cases. Don’t pick and they’ll go away in a few days.
How long before I can expect to see results?
You will typically notice an improvement in the quality and appearance of your skin within the first 24 hours. You will likely see improvements over the next several weeks following a procedure. After 2-3 procedures a thicker more robust, collagen filled cellular matrix will produce more consistent and noticeable improvement. The number of appointments needed varies depending on the goal on and overall condition of your skin, lifestyle, age and other factors. In some cases 6 or more treatments may be recommended for scarring, laxity and deep wrinkles.
Can I combine this with other Modalities?
On the day of you MicroChanneling appointment, an enzyme peel may be performed immediately before MicroChanneling. Blue Light LED can also be used before the MicroChanneling to help kill acne causing bacteria on the skin surface. Immediately following MicroChanneling, LED red light therapy and 02 Skinpro oxygen may be applied.

How many appointments do i need?
The number of sessions range greatly depending on what we are addressing. For light anti-aging concerns, 1-2 appointments may be sufficient. For deeper wrinkles and acne scarring, 4-6 appointments may be required to achieve desired results. There is no limit to the number of procedures that one can receive as long as adequate time passes in between each session. Including other modalities such as LED Light Therapy, Topical Light Infusions and Peels may be a great addition. Customized packages are available!

How frequently can i have microchanneling?
A minimum of 3 weeks between appointments is required. Typically 4 weeks between appointments is recommended, but we will come up with a customized plan for you.
Do I have to use the aftercare kit and homecare products?
It is strongly recommended that you follow all homecare instructions for best results. The use of stem cell serums and an appropriate homecare routine post appointment are a key to your success.
